In just one day, the Sewer District treats more than 229 million gallons of wastewater. That's 85 billion gallons every year!
Most of the water from the homes and businesses of 61 communities in the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s service area comes to us for treatment before we send it back to Lake Erie as clean water.

We clean all of the water that you flush, pour, or rinse down the drain. It’s what we do to keep our Lake and residents safe. Here’s how the flow goes:
